The Ash tray and lighters are two different things. A lighter is a portable device which is used to create a flame, and to ignite a variety of combustible materials, such as a cigar, gas stove, fireworks, candle, or cigarettes. It is a metal or plastic container which is filled with a flammable fluid or pressurized liquid gas, to produce the flame, and some provision for extinguishing the flame. Alternatively, a lighter can be powered by electricity, using an electric arc or heating element to ignite the target. Whereas an ashtray is a receptacle for ash, typically from combustible consumer products such as cigarettes and cigars which is made up of fireproof material such as glass, heat-resistant plastic, pottery, metal, or rock. On the other hand, many vehicle manufacturers now no longer include ashtrays as standard equipment, instead offering ashtrays and lighter plugs as optional accessories, typically dealer-installed. In markets, ashtrays which are designed to fit into an automobile’s cup holders are now on the market.
